our upheaval will be // trading one chemical for another //

i know this will not change anything // i am dragging myself deeper underground // just to avoid what i am //

we know this world is burning // we look away and wonder why //

burn down all walls, burn down all walls // let Earth build over us all again //

our hearts are swollen but it's not enough // we need our knuckles bloody // we need to feel what we don't know //

often our words are not enough // they struggle to understand us // we need other words for digging up // all the remnants of damage we bury // it still feeds us //
